This time, the Korea Football Association appointed Hwang Sun-hong as the interim head coach, indicating a departure from the Klinsmann era and a promise to show a different style of football.

In the previous administration, the Korea Football Association aimed for victory in the Asian Games by bringing in coach Klinsmann. However, this turned out to be in vain. The manager, Klinsmann, failed to meet the expectations of the people because of various misconducts, such as working remotely from his own country or not utilizing substitute players. Moreover, despite having one of the best teams, they struggled to win matches convincingly, often facing criticism for their lack of tactics. Additionally, recently, conflicts among players were heavily publicized, leading to significant criticism and backlash towards the football association and Klinsmann.

However, seemingly realizing the severity of the situation, the association, which had previously only hired a foreign manager, appointed domestic manager Hwang Sun-hong, promising to revive South Korean football. Hwang, upon his appointment, expressed his ambition to "restore South Korean football to its former glory" and garnered high expectations by selecting a completely different set of staff compared to Klinsmann's era.

The manager, Hwang Sun-hong, who is taking charge temporarily, is set to debut in a match against Thailand at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on the 21st.
