Director Christopher Nolan's film "Oppenheimer" earned a total of more than 1 trillion won in ticket sales at movie theaters around the world.
Oppenheimer is the twelfth feature film directed by Christopher Nolan and is a biographical film about the history of Julius Robert Oppenheimer's participation in the Manhattan Project, an American nuclear development project.
Imports from the U.S. amounted to 312.71 million dollars and other global market revenues were 542.71 million dollars. Within seven weeks of its release, "Oppenheimer" became Nolan’s third-ever box office film after his previous films "Dark Knight Rise" ($1.08 billion) and "Dark Night" ($1 billion).
The U.S. entertainment media Variety said, "The dark R-rated (under the age of 17 must be accompanied by adults such as parents) in the dreary room of talkative scientists and politicians is setting a box office record that breaks expectations."
