On September 9, around 11:11 p.m. (local time), a magnitude 6.8 earthquake reportedly struck 71 kilometers southwest of Morocco, North Africa, killing hundreds of people.
The Health Ministry of Morocco reported that "residents of Marrakech and several southern regions have died." As per an interval report, 632 individuals were killed and 329 were harmed and hospitalized across the nation because of the shudder," Morocco's wellbeing service said.
Neighborhood occupants have been cleared from the structures on the off chance that the city structures shake again because of post-quake tremors.
According to locals, there was a power outage immediately following the earthquake, and even communication lines were cut off for ten minutes, causing chaos.
This quake was also felt in Rabat, the capital; Casablanca; and Essaouira, which are 350 kilometers away from the epicenter.
As a result, it is possible that the earthquake damage will be greater than anticipated, and it will likely take a significant amount of time to identify the precise casualties.
