During the state banquet at Buckingham Palace honoring South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's visit, King Charles surprised attendees by acknowledging K-pop groups such as BlackPink and BTS and appraising South Korea's captivating music culture.
The King humorously confessed his limited familiarity with "Gangnam Style." Unlike his previous karaoke performance for US President Biden, President Yoon reminisced about his admiration for music legends like the Beatles, Queen, and Elton John. Notable guests like K-pop star Blackpink and politicians such as Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey attended the grand banquet.
This occasion, marked by an extravagant menu and liquors, brought the diplomatic and economic significance of strengthening trade relations, global stability, and collaborating on technology and security initiatives between the UK and South Korea.
