In a significant escalation of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, North Korean soldiers have reportedly engaged in combat for the first time in Russia’s Kursk region. According to Ukrainian military intelligence, approximately 12,000 North Korean troops, including 500 officers and three generals, have been deployed to Russia, with some units already positioned in the Kursk region. This marks the first known combat involving these units, highlighting North Korea’s deepening military cooperation with Russia.
The presence of North Korean troops in the conflict zone has raised concerns among international observers. The Ukrainian military has confirmed that the first units of the North Korean military, trained in Russia, have already arrived in the combat zone.
