Jaehyun, a member of the K-pop group NCT and an actor, enlisted in the military band on November 4. Jaehyun debuted with NCT in 2016 at the age of 19 and has been active with the group for eight years. Since 2022, he has also pursued acting roles in Korean dramas and films. Now, at 27, he has begun his military service to fulfill his national duty.
Within NCT, Jaehyun is known as an “all-rounder,” skilled in singing, dancing, and rapping, taking on the roles of main vocalist, lead rapper, and lead dancer. He’s recognized as a role model by many juniors, such as Cravity’s Seongmin, Tempest’s Hyeongseop, and Zerobaseone’s Seong Hanbin. Jaehyun is also one of NCT’s most popular members, making his enlistment a bittersweet moment for many fans.
On the same day, singer and actor Kim Woo-seok also enlisted in the military band. Kim Woo-seok gained fame after placing second on the popular show Produce 101 in 2019, which led to his debut as group X1. However, after controversies about ranking manipulation by the show’s producers, the group was disbanded.
Recently, Kim Woo-seok confirmed his relationship with actress Kang Na-eon, whom he met while filming the drama Social Savvy Class 101. The two became close through the show and announced their relationship. His enlistment, only ten days after making the relationship public, has drawn additional attention.
Both Jaehyun and Kim Woo-seok are expected to be discharged on May 3, 2026.
