LoL Champions Korea (LCK), a professional league competition of "League of Legends" in Korea, has been eroded by indiscriminate DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) terror attacks. In the wake of the unprecedented incident, the game company has responded by switching to recording broadcasting and strengthening online firewalls, but no clear solution has been found.

A DDoS attack refers to a hacking attack that causes Internet failure by sending a large amount of malicious traffic so that a specific site or network resource cannot be operated. When a DDoS attack is applied to a game client or server, the network is lost and bouncing, and the game cannot proceed.

DDoS attacks are intensifying. According to the e-sports viewer statistics website "e-sports Chart," LCK posted an average of 159,573 viewers on February 29, half of this year's average which was 303,958. An expert pointed out that "Last year, Riot Games' source code was stolen, which could be the cause of IP leakage. It has become a situation where several hackers can access the source.
