In Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, a distressing incident unfolded at Gangnam Hospital on the 18th of November, 2023, when the facility caught fire around 8 am Swift action from the local fire department saved the hospital from burning into ashes. After the local fire department got the emergency call, they immediately headed for the hospital. The flames were extinguished approximately forty minutes after it started. The fire originated on the second floor at the back of the hospital, prompting the evacuation of 96 individuals, including patients and staff. It is known that currently, thirty-eight individuals moved to a nearby hospital due to smoke inhalation. Despite the successful evacuation, the hospital, a vital healthcare institution in the region, is now faced with the aftermath of the incident. The cause of the fire remains unknown, leaving authorities with unanswered questions as they launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this morning's emergency.
