Director Hayao Miyazaki's latest animation, "The Boy and the Heron" has surpassed one million viewers in just 10 years. It added 59,677 viewers on the 30th, bringing the total to 1,007,647 viewers. The film has maintained the top spot at the box office for the 6th consecutive day, similar to this year's Japanese animation "Suzume."

"The Boy and the Heron" is a transcendent time and space fantasy film where a boy named "Mahito" embarks on an adventure due to a mysterious seagull. Additionally, this film is the fastest Ghibli Studio work to reach one million viewers in history. Previous Ghibli Studio films such as "Howl's Moving Castle" achieved it in 10 days, "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea" in 12 days, and "The Secret World of Arrietty" in 21 days.

After its release in theaters across South Korea, "The Boy and the Heron" has received mixed reviews, with some finding it a masterpiece while others consider it a challenging work. Despite the divided opinions in the community, it has set a record by reaching one million viewers in the shortest time.
