A TV show is currently captivating audiences around the globe with its unique take on a cooking competition. That show is Culinary Class Wars.
Culinary Class Wars is a Netflix reality series where talented but lesser-known chefs, called 'Black Spoons,' go head-to-head with Korea’s top celebrity chefs, known as 'White Spoons.' The show pits 100 chefs in fierce culinary battles, all competing for the title of the best.
For three weeks straight, Culinary Class Wars has claimed the top spot as the most-watched non-English series on Netflix. According to Netflix on the 9th, the show garnered 4 million views between September 30 and October 6, securing its first-place ranking in the non-English TV category. It previously amassed 4.9 million views the week before and 3.8 million views two weeks prior, maintaining its No. 1 position for three consecutive weeks.
The show features renowned chefs such as Lu Ching Lai, Choi Hyun-seok, Edward Lee, Jeong Ji-seon, and Oh Se-deuk as the 'White Spoons.' Judges include popular chef Baek Jong-won and chef Ahn Seong-jae of Mosu Seoul, enhancing the show’s star appeal. It's a point of pride that a Korean reality show has achieved such global success.
