Burning Man is an event focused on community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance and it has been held annually in the western United States since 1986.
Burning Man Festival is based on self-sufficiency so participants must prepare food, drinking water, and temporary accommodation on their own. The purpose of the festival is to gather around and create artworks like sculptures, buildings, and performances.
Burning Man is held in the Black Rock Desert, which is usually dry and dusty. However, due to heavy rain in the western desert, more than 70,000 people are isolated now. BBC Weather states that there is still a risk of some further rain and thunderstorms.
Moreover, there was a death reported after the rain stopped. The Pershing County Sheriff's Office said they are investigating a death that occurred during the rain and the person's family had been notified.
