BTS members RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have started the enlistment process, Big Hit Music announced on the 22nd. "RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are preparing to fulfill their military service obligations," Big Hit Music stated on its fan community site Weverse. "We will guide follow-up news on enlistment as soon as it is decided.
"The Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has advised BTS members to wait until they are 30 to enlist, in accordance with the 2020 revisions to the military service law. Jin and J-Hope, who had already enrolled as active troops, submitted applications to have their delays annulled in October of last year and February of this year, respectively. After receiving an enrollment notice, they signed up.
Enlistment came after the request to revoke the one- to two-month deferral. It is expected that this year or early in the following year, the remaining four members will enlist in the military. Suga joined the military in September and works as a social worker. In 2025, after each member of BTS has completed their military duty, the group intends to resume team activities.
