The Broadway musical will have its first show in Korea starting on July 20 at the Chungmu Art Center.
The musical is based on the true story of a white DJ, Deway Philips, who spread black music to white society in the 1950s. The story is set in Memphis, where blacks and whites were separated, and the musical shows the love between white DJ Huey and black singer Felicia and their dreams.
The music for the musical was written by David Bryan, a keyboard player for the rock band Bon Jovi, and Joe Dipietro, an American playwright.
For the main character, DJ Huey, Kang-Hyun Park, who won the best actor award at the Korea Musical Awards and performed in and, Ko Eun Sung, who performed in and, and Changsub Lee, who performed in and, will take part.
